use the scriptures in our prayers according to God’s design

The Bible has within its pages a path that we are to follow as husbands and wives and fathers and mothers. Elizabeth George teaches us what we can do as wives for our husbands as they walk each of these roles. Her knowledge of the Bible and her own experiences combine to give us this wonderful and insightful direction.
15 Verses to Pray for Your Husband sets before us a task to prayerfully place our husbands before God each day. Elizabeth George speaks of the various areas that our husbands could use our prayers such as spiritual growth, wisdom, acting with courage; his job and his role as a father. These areas are just as tough for our husbands as they are for us as wives. God placed them as the head of our family, a role with much stress and obligations. We can support them by raising them up in prayer and by doing so we keep our focus on them which allows us to have meaningful and blessed relationships. The author shows us how to use the scriptures in our prayers according to God’s design.
Although, the reasoning with this book is to provide prayer for “husbands”, I truly feel that it could also be used for fathers. There are many single mothers who may not have the husband role in their lives, but they have the father of their children to consider. Praying for parental wisdom, spiritual growth, and his role of father would be just as important in this situation. 15 Verses to Pray for Your Husband is a great book to learn how to focus on our husbands and to help them with their roles, but it is also a great resource for prayerfully consider fathers as well.

I'd already personally recommended it to someone

Even before this book was published, I'd already personally recommended it to someone! I’m also planning to make this book my go-to for any wedding gift I will need in the future. It is amazing.
Personal fact, I am newly married. I’m so thankful I came across this work now, early on in my own marriage, as the fundamentals within are, and will be, so impactful for my husband and myself. It felt like long-standing blinders were coming off with each page, a deeper understanding of my husband in his roles, and a new clarity as to how I can best support him as his wife.
The work is not very long overall, but each page is packed with insights that explain and round-out the portions of a husband’s life to pray for, and the verses Mrs. George chose. It took a few days for me to work my way through the whole book, but I was completely refreshed and energized by the end!
I appreciated that Mrs. George often quoted her husband, his books, and his research, so that the reader could be assured that what the author was sharing was not assuming what a husband needs, but responding out of real experience and conversation.
You can hear the echoes of the strong bond of the author’s marriage in the way she writes, as well as the love she has for her husband, and for her readers. I loved Mrs. George’s encouraging and conversational style, it will make you eager to move mountains! I can’t wait to read more of her work.

Must Have!

15 Verses to Pray for Your Husband is more than just 15 Verses to Pray for Your Husband. This book gives us guidelines on how to pray as God wants us to. It gives ideas on ways to remember who we pray for and why we include them. Plus, 15 Verses to Pray for Your Husband reminds us of our responsibilities as wives and advice how to better be the wives God has commanded us to be.
What I liked: Broken down into 25 chapters, 15 Verses to Pray for Your Husband lovingly guides us on how to grow in our prayer life and our marriage with tips, verses, and reminders.
What I didn’t like: There were a lot of words! I thought I’d be able to read this as a devotional, but found that I needed several hours or evenings to dig in and prayerfully work through each section.
